This block of 6 units was in Original condition. It was built in the 1960's with the cheapest construction methods possible (no lintels, uneven ceiling heights etc.)
Pointer took the project on with exposed wires in the apartments and leaks throughout. The building was transformed with modern balconies added to each unit and previously unused common areas assigned to individual units. The project took 15 months to complete and was sold to a mix of first home buyers and investors. Both of which have since bought again from Pointer Property.
The original flooring was kept whenever possible. It is a nice touch and has aged exceptionally well.
Mature plants were used for as much as the entry way as possible. The red door was spectacular - but faded quickly in the harsh northern sun.
The small area in the bathrooms were a challenge for the designers. We settled for small bath tubs to help bathe children. Windows were replaced with Aluminium winders. Mirrors used throughout to create the illusion of space.
